World Wide Technology Championship – Football & Racing News – Star Sports

The globetrotting PGA tour heads from Japan to Mexico this week and a new course for the World Wide Technology Championship.

The El Cardonal course in Cabo San Lucas replaces El Camaleon, Mayakoba as the Mexican stop for the Fedex fall series. It’s a coastal, resort style course with generous paspalum fairways and rough designed more for the holiday golfer than these guys.

This 7,400 yard par 72 set up shouldn’t give any of these guys too many headaches either. The only defence this course looks to have is the offshore winds. So basically, it’s a green light special for everyone off the tee here and may the best man win with approach and putting.

Blue Horseshoe Loves:

Beau Hossler – Currently at

Hossler has been playing some super consistent golf of late. A very solid four rounds saw him place for us in Japan and I’m not going to get off him here in what looks to be a fairly shallow field quality-wise. Beau’s in the best form he’s ben in for quite some time and I can’t see what he won’t be in the mix again come Sunday.

Adam Svensson – Currently at

Svensson had a horror start in Japan but shot one of the low scores of the field on Sunday. If he’s on song he’s more than a match for most of this field. As I’ve been saying recently, this kid is quality and I really like his chances this week.

Akshay Bhatia – Currently at

Bhatia has played well in previous tournaments based at coastal, resort style courses. He can be a little wild with the driver, but he won’t have too many things to worry about here with the wide fairways and short rough on offer here. This PGA Tour winner looks decent enough value in what is not an overly strong field in Mexico.

Richy Werenski – Currently at

This is a long odds each way play for the exotic lovers amongst you. I’ve been following Werenski for a while and I think this PGA Tour winner will put up a decent performance and a nice big price at some stage. Here, at what is not a taxing course, could be just his opportunity.
