The Spurs are the current EPL leaders but now have a massive challenge coming their way – Chelsea. Tottenham’s recent performances are boosting the morale of the fans, but on the other side, Chelsea showed signs of life, and despite them being inconsistent, they can be extremely problematic for any team in Europe. Especially following last week’s loss to Brentford at home. An additional reason why you should watch this event is because these two teams have a long history and a bitter rivalry.
Tottenham vs. Chelsea Preview
The Spurs play above all expectations, so it is no wonder why they sit atop the standings, two points ahead of the rest of the company. Along with Arsenal, they are the only undefeated unit in the Premiership.
Ange Postecoglu upgraded Tottenham’s playing style, and they look so much better now than during the previous year when Spurs had Harry Kane. The Aussie uses a flamboyant approach, combined with the quickness of his players and for the moment, that works just fine.
Tottenham is perfect at home, having four wins in a row, all of them with at least two goals scored, and a combined goal difference of 8-2. It’s been a while since we saw the Spurs this powerful.
We don’t need to write too much about Chelsea. Everybody knows that the Blues are the most inconsistent team in the league. After three wins in a row, we’ve seen them play 2-2 against Arsenal, losing a two-goal advantage and then suffering a 0-2 defeat at home to Brentford.
Mauricio Pochettino is under pressure, but his position is safe for the moment. Everybody knows that his top player, Christopher Nkunku, is out, which is a big minus for the team.
Chelsea has back-to-back victories on the road vs. Fulham, 0-2, and Burnley, 1-4. Sure, the momentum isn’t as strong as before, but these couple of results are encouraging for the Blues and their fans.
