Sevilla v Arsenal – Football & Racing News – Star Sports

After a shock defeat to Lens in their last Champions League outing, the pressure is on Arsenal to get back to winning ways when they make the trip to Sevilla on Wednesday night.

Arsenal’s league form has been solid and, although they went through adversity against Chelsea at the weekend by going two goals down, Mikel Arteta’s side showed their resilience and steel by coming back to claim a point.

Qualification through to the next round of the Champions League, though, is still very much up in the air after that surprising loss to Lens where goals from Adrien Thomasson and Elye Wahi were enough to secure the points for the French side.

They really need to bounce back quickly or else they run the risk of their return to the Champions League this season being a brief one.

Unlike Arsenal, Sevilla have suffered a very disappointing start to their league campaign and find themselves languishing in the bottom-half of the table.

Earlier this month, the board decided to act by relieving Jose Luis Mendilibar of his duties as head coach. Diego Alonso, formerly of Inter Miami and the Uruguay national team, is now the new man at the helm.

There are signs that things might be starting to turn around with Los Nervionenses picking up a decent point against reigning La Liga champions Real Madrid at the weekend, but obviously face a tough test against Arsenal on Tuesday night.

Sevilla are leaky at the back but do seem to know where the goal is at the other end. Four of their last five games have ended with both teams scoring so I like the appeal of a BTTS bet in this one.

Also, there is an appealing price boost of Martin Odegaard, who is in excellent form for the Gunners, to assist a goal which is 10/3 from 13/5.
