Salford City v Leeds United – Football & Racing News – Star Sports

Salford City will be looking for an upset in the League Cup on Tuesday night as they welcome Leeds United to the Peninsula Stadium on Tuesday night.

In League Two, Salford have made a steady start to their campaign where, after missing out in the play-offs last season, the Ammies’ sights are firmly set on promotion this season.

They did, however, suffer a setback at the weekend where Neil Wood’s side were beaten at home by Accrington Stanley with Ryan Watson’s late penalty proving to be only a consolation after goals from Shaun Whalley and Josh Andrews put Stanley 2-0 up in the first-half.

Wood’s men will be looking to bounce back at the earliest possible opportunity, but face a tough test on Tuesday as they lock horns with Leeds United in the League Cup.

It has been turbulent at times for Leeds United since relegation from the Premier League, but it does start to feel like they are getting their act together now.

Signings have started to come through the door, Joel Piroe a particularly eye-catching addition from Swansea City, and things have calmed down with wantaway players as well with a deal being agreed for Tyler Adams to leave the club and it now looking like both Luis Sinisterra and Wilfried Gnonto will stay at Elland Road.

Although still looking leaky in defence, Daniel Farke’s side put together their best performance of the season so far at the weekend – and picked up their first win – as they defeated high-flying Ipswich Town 4-3 in a seven-goal thriller.

Changes are expected for this one, but I still think their immense attacking quality will see them score goals on Tuesday night. I am backing Leeds to score in both halves at 7/5 with
