There is no time for rest as both Ireland and the Netherlands take on one another this Sunday night. These two units had tough rivals a few days ago, and we’re sure they still feel the consequences of those battles. However, the qualifiers are at the critical stage, and alibis are worthless right now, because three points are a must.
Republic of Ireland vs. Netherlands
Republic of Ireland
The Irish unit had a hard time in Paris. Playing against the best team in the world takes away your energy and mental power regardless of the result, so Stephen Kenny needs to find a way to take the maximum out of his boys.
Ireland is a limited team without superstars. They have a few notable names on the roster, like supertalented Evan Ferguson from Brighton, but there aren’t any world-class guys like Robbie Kean was in the past.
Irish football isn’t that appealing. They are relying upon a hard physical approach, and you won’t see some mastermind tactics and strategies when they play. Also, the Irish players aren’t very gifted in terms of technique or anything like that, which is another reason we don’t see too many goals during their contests.
Oranje suffered a harsh experience in the opening round of the EURO 2024 qualifiers, with them losing to France in Paris, 4-0. It is something that just a few expected, even though the Gauls present an elite of today’s football.
Later on, the poor form continued, with the Netherlands losing the games in the final stage of the UEFA Nations League. We’ve seen them suffering defeat at home to Croatia in the semis, 2-4, and in the game for the third place, to Italy, 2-3.
Again, the problem for Oranje was the defense, with them allowing too many goals, despite having guys like Van Dijk or Dumfries. It’s something that’s been a problem for this unit over the past few seasons.

Republic of Ireland vs. Netherlands Predictions
The Netherlands struggles, but overall, they are a better team than Ireland, and the guests should post a victory in this one. Ireland is limited, and its players can’t compete with the best teams on the continent even if they play at home.
