Newcastle v Manchester City – Football & Racing News – Star Sports

After defeating arch-rivals Sunderland in their most recent outing, Newcastle United will now be looking to arrest their slump in the Premier League when welcoming Manchester City to St James’ Park on Saturday.

Over the last six games, Newcastle find themselves rock-bottom of the form table with just one win and five defeats.

In that kind of form, their supporters must have been slightly worried heading into the Tyne-Wear derby last weekend, but their quality shone through with the Magpies cruising to a 3-0 win at the Stadium of Light.

That should do the confidence and morale around the squad, which must have been at a low point, the world of good heading into another tough match against Manchester City this weekend.

They did suffer another blow in the treatement room, though, which is becoming a story of their season, with Joelinton set to miss at least six weeks with a quad injury.

It hasn’t been the easiest of campaigns so far for Manchester City, or at least not as easy as some were expecting, but they will be hoping things are back on track now after two consecutive Premier League wins.

In their most recent Premier League outing, City cruised to a comfortable, routine 2-0 win over Sheffield United thanks to goals from Rodri and Julian Alvarez.

They will now be hoping to build on that and edge closer to Liverpool at the top of the table with the gap currently standing at five points.

City do seem to get stronger as the season goes on and I think, especially with Kevin De Bruyne back in the fold after a long injury lay-off, they are now starting to click into gear.

At 19/10 with, I think a Manchester City win to nil looks appealing.
