Newcastle v Borussia Dortmund – Football & Racing News – Star Sports

After a simply superb victory over PSG in their last Champions League match, Newcastle will be looking to keep it going when they welcome Borussia Dortmund to St James’ Park.

Goals from Miguel Almiron, Dan Burn, Sean Longstaff and Fabian Schar secured a 4-1 win and a very memorable night for the Magpies earlier this month.

That leaves with Eddie Howe’s men with four points from their opening two Champions League group games and on the cusp of qualification through to the knockout stages, something not many people predicted when they were drawn alongside PSG, Dortmund and AC Milan.

Sandro Tonali, who looks set for a lengthy ban for betting offences, is still available for selection as it stands and is likely to play a big part in midfield if he’s able to play.

Dortmund are often unpredictable, but they do come into this one in decent form having made an unbeaten start after six matches to their Bundesliga campaign.

Over the weekend, they edged a 1-0 win over Werder Bremen thanks to a second-half strike from Julian Brandt to keep themselves just two points behind current league leaders Bayer Leverkusen.

Their Champions League campaign so far, though, has been less successful. They have just one point from their opening two games and, if they are to keep their dreams of qualification alive, really need to put Newcastle to the sword on Wednesday night.

⭐ NEWCASTLE v DORTMUND STARSPORTS.BET MATCH MARKETS ⭐

The home advantage for Newcastle, with their passionate fanbase right behind them, could play in a big factor in this one as it did against PSG. At 23/20 with starsports.bet, I like the look of Newcastle and over 2.5 goals.

Also, considering his pretty poor disciplinary record, I think Anthony Gordon to be carded looks appealing at 21/10.
