Mourinho touted for international role after Roma departure – Football & Racing News – Star Sports

Jose Mourinho has been tipped to manage a national team for the first time in his career following his dismissal from Serie A side Roma on Tuesday.

After three years at the Giallorossi, Mourinho is 5/2 to manage a national side and diversify his impressive résumé of European clubs.

Should he choose a more familiar route, the Special One is 3/1 to replace Eddie Howe at Newcastle, while a move to the Saudi Pro League could likewise be tempting at 4/1.

Luke Tarr, Head of PR at Star Sports, said: “Jose Mourinho finds himself a free agent after his dismissal from Roma on Tuesday morning, and with this summer’s European Championships on the horizon we make it a firm chance that he dips his toes into international management for the first time in his career at 5/2.

“Should Mourinho look for something more demanding in the long-term, Newcastle is the next best bet to snap him up at 3/1, with opportunities in the ever-growing Saudi Pro League (4/1) and MLS (6/1) also viable options moving forward for the Portuguese manager.”
