Max Holloway is one of the most spectacular fighters in the UFC, and he now heads to the Far East to meet the sports icon in that part of the world, Jung Chan-sung. The veteran, also known as the Korean Zombie, was one of the trailblazers for the sport in this region and also became popular globally because of the intensity of his battles. On the other end, Holloway was once among the biggest stars in the UFC, but lately, his aura started to fade, especially following three losses to Alexander Volkanovski. This is a perfect chance for both to get back to the center of attention with one big win. Check out the preview for this featherweight event.
Max Holloway vs. Korean Zombie Preview
The Blessed is an icon in the USA. He was the UFC featherweight champ, defended the title three times, and even challenged guys from the lightweight division. He has the third most wins in the UFC featherweight division history and plenty of other records as well.
At the moment, Holloway is 24-7, and comes off a unanimous decision victory over Arnold Allen in April this year. Previously he lost to Volk in their third bout, this time without any controversy, snapping back-to-back wins over Yair Rodriguez and Calvin Kattar. Throughout his career, Max posted many big-time triumphs, and his victims were Jose Aldo, Brian Ortega, Frankie Edgar, Anthony Pettis, and Calvin Kattar.
He is probably the most gifted attacker in the division’s history, with a fantastic boxing arsenal that hasn’t been seen until his appearance on the big stage. The Blessed holds the record for the most total strikes landed in UFC history against Kattar, +447. We don’t have to say anything after this.
Chan-sung is the guy whose fights were the most entertaining in the UFC for a long period of time. His aggressive and reckless style provided numerous highlight reels, and as such, Chan-sung drew the attention of the masses each time he appeared in the octagon. For the moment, he is tied for the second-most fight-night bonuses in UFC featherweight history.
The Korean Zombie had a 16-month pause, with him losing that previous bout to Alexander Volkanovski. It was the fight for the belt in which Volk ripped apart his rival, eventually ending the affair in the fourth round, via KO.
The 36-year-old is an excellent boxer, with a high punching output, but on the other side, his defense is pretty bad, and he has been suffering heavy damage against good attackers.
Max Holloway and Korean Zombie Predictions
Holloway is much faster, his chin is tougher, and most importantly, he is way more dangerous and gifted in the attack than the Zombie. It’s no wonder why all the bookies see this as an easy job for the American, and we, too, believe in his confident victory, probably with a knockout.
Our verdict: Holloway wins via KO
