Hero World Challenge – Football & Racing News – Star Sports

A very select field head to The Bahamas this week to compete in the Hero World Challenge, the poor old souls.

This is the end of year jolly is hosted by Tiger Woods and has a miniscule starting line-up of twenty players teeing it up.

The Albany course always proves to be little more than a coastal doddle for the finest players in the world and the top of the market is dominated by players such as Scheffler, Morikawa and Hovland.

You’d expect all three will be in the mix, but let’s see if I can give you a couple for a bit more value.

It’s either feast or famine when it comes to backing young Mr. Burns. When he’s hot not many can get near him. He destroyed the field in the World match play champs this year, winning the final against Cam Young 6&5.

That looked to give him the perfect impetus for a huge year, but it never quite panned out that way. I think this price for a guy of his obvious quality in a low pressure, small field event looks like a cracking bit of value.

Word on the wire is that Tiger is playing quite well and more importantly he’s in far less pain moving about. This week he is hosting the tournament and there will always still be an element of pride in Tiger Woods. If he starts well and gets a sniff you know those old competitive juices will start flowing again. Remember two things; class is permanent and it’s only a twenty-man field. If he gets out of the blocks well, it’s game on.

At this price, I’m happy to pay to find out.
