Exeter Sunday – Football & Racing News – Star Sports

My first three intended rides are all non runners today leaving just two on an excellent Sunday card at Exeter writes HARRY SKELTON.

I had a great spin from all of my rides on Saturday and it was great to land a winner in the final race with Royal Infantry. I think the long straight helped him again as it did at Doncaster and it looked a decent race so fingers crossed he can build on that.

L’Eau Du Sud ran an absolute belter in the Betfair Hurdle but we just couldn’t cope with the finish of Iberico Lord (pictured below). The stable’s runners all ran with credit with Faivoir (5th) and Knickerbockerglory (6th) in what is always one of the most competitive handicap hurdles of the season.

MY DROGO – 3.35pm Pertemps Network Handicap Hurdle (Pertemps Hurdle Series Qualifier) (GBB Race) (Class 2) 2m 7f

We’re reverting him back to hurdles after a nice winter break. There’s been nothing wrong with him. He just hasn’t been firing since the cold weather which came as a bit of a shock to him after a long layoff. We’re super happy with him now and he is showing all the zest of his former self and looks really fit and well. We’re hoping for a very competitive run from him and while he’s off a very high mark, if he came back to his hurdles form of old then he could be in with a squeak. He’s lightly raced, he’s showing all his old spark, and we can’t wait to get him back out. This should tell us what the next steps are with him.

GALIA DES LITEAUX – 4.05pm Trustatrader You Can Trust Our Traders Mares’ Chase (Listed Race) (GBB Race) (Class 1) 3m

She’s taking her chance in the mares’ Listed chase off the back of a great run at Warwick where she stayed on strongly and the conditions should suit her here. These races are the kind we’re looking at for her so we’re looking forward to getting her out again. She’s been in great form since her last run considering it was three and a half miles, and the cheekpieces are staying on after helping her the last day. I think sometimes you only really find out after a race like that how they are when they come out of it, so hopefully she can back that effort up and go very close.

Good Luck
