Cheltenham Saturday – Football & Racing News – Star Sports

No joy at Cheltenham on Friday but hopefully better luck on day two on Saturday. I’ll also be back on Saturday evening with the latest news and thoughts on my booked rides at Aintree on Sunday. But for now Cheltenham …..

1.50pm PUNTA DEL ESTE – Masterson Holdings Hurdle ⭐ STAR PRICES ⭐

We’ll have to just wait and see about Punta Del Este

as he wants plenty of cut in the ground. He’s got a lot to find on figures, especially carrying a penalty, and will have to improve a significant amount. If there isn’t any more rain, then he’s likely not to run.

2.25pm HIDDEN HEROICS – Epic Jumps Season At William Hill Handicap Chase ⭐ STAR PRICES ⭐

Hidden Heroics

(pictured below) runs in the 3m1f handicap chase. He seems in really good form at home and he likes to be fresh. The handicapper gave him plenty of weight last season for winning at Exeter and Cheltenham in small fields. He’s done plenty of work at home and hopefully he can give a good account of himself, but we’ll see whether the handicapper still has a hold of him.

4.45pm VALGRAND – Cheltenham & South West Racing Club Open National Hunt Flat Race ⭐ STAR PRICES ⭐

We also run Valgrand

in the bumper. He’s a four-year-old who ran well in his point-to-point. He goes nicely at home and he seems to know his job. This is quite a difficult track for a bumper horse, but I think he’ll handle the track and we hope he’ll go well. He probably wouldn’t want too much more rain and good-to-soft ground would be perfect for him.
