What an outstanding display of ball striking and putting across four days to be this year’s Open Champion.
We’re back in the States and a parkland golf course set up for this week’s 3M open at TPC Twin Cities in Minnesota. There are only two tournaments left until the Fed Ex Cup playoffs begin, so it’s time for the players around the 126 ranking on the prize money list to make hay to ensure they get an invite to the FedEx End of season party.
Most of the big guns are resting up for the season climax of the FedEx Cup, so there is ample opportunity for the fringe players to cash in at what is regarded as a ball strikers paradise, where distance off the tee is not a prerequisite to success.
I am going to go with four players who I have backed and been impressed by throughout this season and who have each gone close to registering their first PGA Tour win but have just come up short (agonisingly short in some cases). All of these guys are not only due but have the game to win here and at least offer decent each way value if they go close again this week.
