THE FUTURE TEMPORARY DEATH OF THE WEST? (Joey Faust)

The Babylonian kingdom will be revived to become the glory of the nations:

Isaiah 13:13 Therefore I will shake the heavens, and the earth shall
remove out of her place, in the wrath of the LORD of hosts, and in the day
of his fierce anger.
19 And BABYLON, the glory of kingdoms, the beauty of the Chaldees'
excellency, shall be as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah.
20 It shall never be inhabited, neither shall it be dwelt in from
generation to generation: neither shall the Arabian pitch tent there;
neither shall the shepherds make their fold there.

This Scripture has never been completely fulfilled. Those that teach that
this is only symbolic language should have learned their lesson when
literal Israel was restored as a nation in 1948. In the Bible, "Israel"
means Israel and "Babylon" means Babylon. The only exception is when
Scripture clearly calls a city by the name of another ancient city for the
purpose of illustrating its character. When this occurs, there is CLEAR
information in the context that reveals the name of the literal city:

Revelation 11:8 And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great
city, which spiritually is called SODOM and EGYPT, where ALSO OUR LORD WAS
CRUCIFIED.

We are clearly told that the city is SPIRITUALLY called "Sodom and Egypt."
Therefore we know, in this case, we are not dealing with Sodom or Egypt.
Next, we are provided with clear details to reveal what the name of the
literal city is. It is JERUSALEM. That is the city where our Lord was
crucified (Matthew 20:18, Luke 13:33, 23:28, 24:18). When such obvious
details as these are lacking it is great error to take a city in a
figurative sense.

Revelation 17 is another example of a literal city that is symbolically
named after another city:

Revelation 17:5 And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON
THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.

Again, the word "mystery" (like "spiritually" in Revelation 11) alerts us
that this is only a symbolic name. Yet, in symbolic passages, the Bible
never leaves us guessing. As in Revelation 11:8, we are given information
that clearly reveals the literal identity of this city:

Revelation 17:18 And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, WHICH
REIGNETH OVER THE KINGS OF THE EARTH.

Rome was this reigning city when John saw the vision.

These Biblical keys that alert us to symbolism are not found in the OT
passages concerning Babylon. "Babylon" therefore refers to LITERAL Babylon
in Isaiah 13. The whole context demands it.

This prophecy in Isaiah 13 has not been completely fulfilled. It therefore
follows that the literal Babylonian kingdom will be soon REVIVED as the
"glory of kingdoms." It will then be destroyed. After nation rises against
nation for a time, Rome will then rise to become the new center of
religion and commerce.

There are other Scriptures that teach that literal Babylon will revive in
glory and power:

Daniel 2:44 And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up
a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be
left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and CONSUME ALL THESE
KINGDOMS , and it shall stand for ever.

There are four Gentile kingdoms mentioned in Daniel 2: Babylon,
Persia/Media, Greece and Rome. Daniel 2:44 reveals that this is a
double-fulfillment prophecy. In history, Jesus Christ came during the 4th
and final kingdom. Yet, verse 44 (and 35) was not fulfilled. Therefore,
the entire prophecy awaits a FUTURE fulfillment. This is similar to the
prophecy concerning the coming of Elijah. John the Baptist was only a
partial fulfillment of Malachi 4:5. Jesus stated, after John was beheaded,
that the literal Elijah would still come in the future to fulfill Malachi
(Matthew 17:11). "All" (Daniel 2:44) the kingdoms in Daniel 2 (Babylon,
Persia, Greece, Rome) must be revived before the Second Coming of Christ.

Daniel 8:17-21 plainly states that Persia and Greece will be revived in
the end times (the second and third kingdoms). Daniel 7 teaches that all
four kingdoms will be revived:

Daniel 7:17 These great beasts, which are four, are four kings, which
SHALL ARISE out of the earth.

Daniel was writing during the Babylonian kingdom (7:1). Therefore, the
"shall arise" must refer to the end times, when the Antichrist will appear
in the 4th and final kingdom (this 4th kingdom has two stages).

There are other Scriptures; but I believe this is enough to establish the
fact that the first kingdom of the Tribulation Period will be the
Babylonian kingdom (Iraq). Iraq will then be temporarily destroyed by
Media/Persia (Iran). Greece will then rise to power. Then Rome will rise
to power with the Catholic Church. The Antichrist will appear, destroy the
Whore, and will then reign with Ten Kings over the entire world. He will
bring the worst persecution and bloodshed in history.

It is possible that literal Babylon can arise as the glory of the kingdoms
without the temporary death of the West. Whoever CONTROLS literal Babylon
is called the "king of Babylon" in Scripture:

Ezra 5:13 But in the first year of CYRUS the KING OF BABYLON the same king
Cyrus made a decree to build this house of God.

Nehemiah 13:6 But in all this time was not I at Jerusalem: for in the two
and thirtieth year of ARTAXERXES KING OF BABYLON came I unto the king, and
after certain days obtained I leave of the king:

Cyrus and Artaxerxes were Medo-Persian kings (the second kingdom of Daniel
2). Yet, since they conquered and controlled Babylon, they were both
called the "king of Babylon." Therefore IF Iraq is conquered in the near
future by NATO, United Nations, America, etc., the city of Babylon will
certainly be rebuilt and become a world center of New Age tourism and
commerce. This scenario would not require the temporary demise of the
West.

On the other hand, it is very possible that the West must temporarily give
way to the Middle East very soon. The West will revive again in the midst
of the Tribulation Age. But the Tribulation BEGINS with the Middle East in
glory and power. The Pre-trib Translation could bring about this radical
shift in world power. It will certainly contribute to it. It should
however be remembered that many did not expect Israel to be reborn as a
nation UNTIL the Tribulation Period. Yet, Israel has already been reborn
for over 50 years! It is likewise very possible that the shift in world
power (to the Middle East) will take place before the Tribulation Period.
I have taught this framework for years. However, I could not imagine any
other catalyst other than the Pre-trib Translation that could shift world
power. But now we see the new threat of Islamic terrorism on American
soil. When America throws away its liberty to thwart this terrorism, it
throws away the very thing which makes it America, and also that which by
God's Providence makes it great. America has rejected more than Christian
light. America has rejected and mocked the RELATIVE MORALITY that God
requires of even lost heathens! God judges any nation or kingdom that
crosses this line. The entire West is therefore ripe for God's judgment.

Elected leaders need to repent of endorsing such self-evident evils as
infanticide, sodomy, adultery, kidnapping, gambling, etc. The Christian
light in America only makes her sins all the more damning. One does not
have to be a Christian or a Bible believer to know that such things are
wrong. Christians should repent of their love for TV, worldly movies and
worldly music. Time is racing toward the Tribulation Period. Iraq is the
first kingdom of the Tribulation Period. It has been in the news for over
a decade. But who notices? Who cares? Many simply microwave another pizza
and pop in another video (with nudity, blasphemy and lot's of blood). The
spiritual minds of many have obviously been "microwaved!"

The following news report concerning Buchanan makes the prophetic scenario
I have been presenting for a few years all the more real:

"Buchanan Declares Death of the West - The New Year is just minutes old
and now comes Pat Buchanan to warn: The Death of the West! In his
ultracontroversial book, which will be banned, blocked and burned in many
quarters, brave Buchanan contends that the U.S. will be a Third World
nation by the year 2050. The
BestSellingAuthorTVHostPresidentialCandidateColumnist predicts Europe will
be inundated by an Islamic-Arab-African invasion and most First World
nations, including Japan, will have begun slowly to vanish from the
earth...Relying upon the most recent UN population studies, Buchanan
declares:

-By 2050, only 10% of the world's people will be of European descent. One
third of Europe's people will be over 60, and one-in-ten over 80.
Involuntary euthanasia has already come to Europe.

-Between now and 2050, Asia, Africa, and Latin America will grow by three
to four billion people - 30 to 40 new Mexicos! - as Europe will lose the
equivalent of the entire population of Germany, Poland, Denmark, Norway,
Sweden, and Finland.

-By 2050, 23 million Germans will have disappeared along with 16 million
Italians and 30 million Russians.

-Russia will lose Siberia and the far east to China and be pushed out of
the Caucuses and Central Asia, where Islamic populations are exploding
while Russia's is dying.

-Either Europe must effect a radical cutback in pensions and health care
for seniors, or Europe must import scores of millions of Arabs and
Africans to care for the elderly and pay the taxes to sustain their
welfare states.

-The 4.2 million Palestinians in Israel and on the West Bank and Gaza will
explode to 9 million by 2025, and 15 million by 2050, when Palestinians
will outnumber Israel's Jewish population two-to-one.

-America's 'Dual Containment' policy in the Persian Gulf seems
unsustainable. In less than 25 years, Iraq will have 42 million people and
Iran 94 million people, more than any European nation except Russia.

-The Islamic invasions of Spain and France in the eighth century, and of
the Balkans and Central Europe from the 14th to the 17th centuries, will
be reenacted in the lifetime of most of those now living. Islam has
already surpassed Catholicism as the largest religion on earth.

-It is the Christian nations - Catholic, Protestant, and Orthodox - that
have begun to die. In a chapter titled, 'Where Have All the Children
Gone?' Buchanan explains why, and why it is unlikely the West can solve
the demographic crisis before it leads to The Death of the West.

-In his chapter La Reconquista, Buchanan contends that an invasion of the
United States is taking place and that America now harbors a 'nation
within a nation.'

-There are 30 million foreign born in the U.S. today, and between 9 and 11
million illegal aliens, or as many undocumented aliens in the U.S. as
there are people in Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Connecticut...

-With the assault on Confederate books, symbols, flags, heroes, and
holidays almost complete, the attack is now proceeding against the Puritan
fathers, soldiers who fought in The Mexican War, and, in New Jersey, even
against the Declaration of Independence itself.

-Even the great museums on America's Mall, to introduce school children to
the greatness and glory of America's past, are being used to indoctrinate
children in how wicked and evil our forefathers were.

-In his chapter, 'The De-Christianization of America,' Buchanan argues
that the death of the Christian faith in Western countries is a primary
cause of their dying populations. Whenever faith dies, the people die. A
new atheistic civilization is arising, he argues, and is using its
dominance of the culture and the courts to drive Christianity out of the
temples of our civilization.

-Secular Humanism, widely mocked and disparaged, a few decades ago, is now
the dominant faith of the nation's cultural elites. The moral tenets of
humanism are replacing those of Christianity in our public life.

-Even Christian churches are rewriting their hymnals to make them
acceptable to the dominant culture..." (Drudge, Jan 02 2002)

Should not these observations, when coupled with what the BIBLE clearly
predicts, cause us all to draw nigh unto God in these last days? Let us
fear God and move with repentance. The Lord is at hand!

STAGESETTING FOR THE MARK
"The government is working with the states to develop a new generation of
drivers' licenses that could be checked anywhere and would contain
electronically stored information such as fingerprints for the country's
184 million licensed drivers...In a report accompanying spending
legislation, Congress told the department it would strongly encourage
officials there to develop guides quickly with states for electronically
storing information on licenses...Already, 37 states store information on
licenses electronically, often using bar codes or magnetic stripes, but
few are known to have included fingerprints or imprints of retinal - or
facial-scans. Georgia, for example, includes a digital thumbprint on its
licenses. 'What you're seeing here is sort of a hardening of the driver's
license that could lead to development of a national ID system without
creating a national ID card,' said Marc Rotenberg, head of the
Washington-based Electronic Privacy Information Center." (AP, Jan.8, 2002)

LUKEWARM CHRISTIANS APPLAUD LORD OF THE RINGS
"'Lord Of The Rings' Gets Thumbs-Up From Christians - Billed as one of the
biggest movie events in years, the first in the 'Lord of the Rings'
trilogy, which opened in 10,000 cinemas worldwide this week, has become a
major talking point among Christians. With its cast of wizards, elves,
goblins and other creatures, the movie has left many wondering whether
there are similar grounds for concern about occult influences as some felt
was the case with the Harry Potter books and film...Dr. James Dobson's
Focus on the Family...carries items on its website contrasting Lord of the
Rings with the Potter books and film. Kurt Bruner, vice president of Focus
on the Family and co-author of a book called 'Finding God in The Lord of
the Rings,' says the Tolkien film 'brings Christian parents and youth
leaders an opportunity to point young people to God.'...Tolkien, an Oxford
academic who died in 1973, was an ardent Roman Catholic and friend of C.S.
Lewis, the renowned writer and Christian apologist...Despite an apparent
Christian thumbs-up for the Lord of the Rings, some are still warning that
battle and horror scenes in the movie are very violent..." (CNSNews.com)

Comments: Any book or movie that teaches that there are GOOD wizards
should NOT be endorsed by Christians in any manner. These books are
teaching THEOSOPHY, a Christianized form of occultism that Pember and
others predicted would become the world-wide religion (as it mixes with
Roman Catholicism). Why must Christians follow the world? Why must they
lap up everything the world promotes? There should be no controversy
concerning what is on TV or what is in the movies. It should ALL be
rejected as violent, blasphemous trash. Christians should be about their
Father's business. The Bible predicts that many would be lovers of
pleasure more than God in these last days (2 Tim. 3).
