Appearing in Weekly World News October 5, 1999 edition is yet another big spiel about the perilous times to come.  This one, as well as others, routinely put their faith and trust into false prophets such as Nostradamus, Edgar Cayce, Futurist Robert Colins, Psychic Paul Peters, Christian Visionary Phillippe Ralle, Futurist Janice Saymour and hordes of others. Yes, sometimes they even break out a few prophecies from the Bible, but usually they grossly mishandle the infallible Word of God and even then it is only used to suit a certain desire of the tacky journalists who pump out this blasphemous garbage.

Folks, the Word of God is the only true authority.  If you want to know the future then look at what God has had to say about the future.  One of God's testimonies that He is who He says He is, the divine Author of the Bible, is that He has placed in His Word nearly 8000 verses of prophecy.  He chose the men whom would record His Words to us and He spoke to them about the events to come.  He told His prophets the end from the beginning.
He has never been wrong.  In His sovereignty and omnipresence He has been excruciatingly exact in His prophetic program.  Of the nearly 8000 verses of prophecy in the Bible, 90% of them have come to pass with exact accuracy.  The remaining 10% are either coming to pass now, or will soon come to pass as we race toward the end.

So why does the world pay attention to these fallible visionaries and false prophets found in tacky tasteless magazines and periodicals? Well one reason is just that.  Because they are found in these worthless forms of media.  The press pumps this junk out to the public, and the public being totally ignorant of the truth of God's Word snaps it up and believes it.

But why should we pay no mind to false prophets such as Nostradamus, Cayce and the multitude of other  sorcerers, seers and a host of other necromancers who are deeply rooted in witchcraft and divination?

3 Good reasons:

  • 1) God tells us to have nothing to do with them.
Deut 18:10-12
10 There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch,
11 Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.
12 For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD:

Rev 21:8
8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

Lev 19:31
31 Regard not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them: I am the LORD your God.

  • 2) If they are not of God, then they cannot be trusted

2 Tim 3:13
13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.

Matt 24:11
11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.

Matt 24:24
24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

Deut 18:22
22 When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.

If God say's something is to happen, it will happen.  It will happen completely and exactly.
These false prophets of today may get a thing or two right once in a while. And it is important to note that the demonic spirits which they succumb to are supernatural beings. They have been around a long time.  They know the Word of God as well as we do, if not much better.  The demonic forces and principalities of this world are not ignorant of the things to come either.  They are also familiar with God's game plan.  But they will twist and deceive, and they will mix some truth in with the false.  By putting in some truth, they seem to take on some credibility.  That's what the cults do as well.  They take some truth of God, and then add their own twisted theories and views to it.  People can see the bit of truth that is mingled in, so they think "aahhh... this must be!"  But God is all truth! All of what God says will come to pass, not in part, but in full.

  • 3) Who is behind these visionaries and false prophets? Where are they getting their information?  What exactly is the source? If it is not God then who?
I Jn 4:3
3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

Rev 20:10
10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
(This prophecy has not yet come to pass)

2 Chr 33:6
6 And he caused his children to pass through the fire in the valley of the son of Hinnom: also he observed times, and used enchantments, and used witchcraft, and dealt with a familiar spirit, and with wizards: he wrought much evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger.

Folks, when a visionary, or seer, or enchanter, or diviner, or fortune teller, or channeler, or astrologer, or spirit guide, or any other type of necromancer is getting information passed to him/her you must know that it comes by supernatural means.  It is evil, coming by the way of familiar spirits and principalities, and forces of darkness and rulers in high places. It is meant to cause confusion. It is meant to manipulate and to suppress the truth.  If you listen to these, and if you not only listen to these but you also promote such, then you must know that you will answer for it on that day.

Rev 21:8
8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

Rev 22:14-15
14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.
15 For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.

Below is a table of so called prophetic events that will supposedly come to pass during the year 2000.

Here is a week by week forecast of events that will supposedly come to pass as found in Weekly World News.  In the article they advise people to "Mark your calendar and chalk them off as they happen!"   I say, mark your calendar and chalk them off one by one as they fall by the wayside.

Week 1
The social, political and economic collapse of the United States is likely on or at least within a week of January 1, 2000.  "It begins with a financial crash, a market crash and your chances of surviving the violence and the chaos that follow the collapse are probably somewhere around 50-50. Even if you do survive, your life will never be the same. There are at least 200 independent predictions of America's demise dating back 4,000 years-
Nostradamus himself called it 'chaos in the New Land' and in virtually each instance, the predictions include statements to the effect that once the United States falls, the entire world falls, setting the stage for the creation of the Satanic one world government that the Bible's Book of Revelation warns so eloquently about. A pretty prospect? No, it is not.  But whether you like it or I like it, this is the only prospect we've got."

*Some truth mixed with some theory.  Yes Revelation and many other places in the Word of God do tell us that we will see parilous times. We will see the shaking of Heaven and Earth. (Luke  21:26, 2 Timothy 3:1, Matthew 24:21, 2 Peter 3:10 to name a few.  But did God say that this will all come to pass in 2000? No, but what God did say is "But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. (Matt 24:36)

Week 2
France, Germany, England, Sweden and other European powers fall like dominoes in the wake of America's demise as an international power.  As Europe plunges into social and political chaos, so, too, do democratic powers in the Far East.  The exception: Red China- which seizes on the instability to overrun South Korea, Taiwan, Japan and within weeks, all of Southeast Asia. -- Nostradamus

*Mr. Nostradamus, you must be turning in your grave with embarrassment!  lol

Week 3
Israel launches the first nuclear warhead in a limited but nightmarish skirmish with Iraq. Jerusalem takes the worst hit, with an estimated 200,000 feared dead after two Iraqi warheads loaded with nerve gas strike the heart of the city. -- futurist Robert Collins

*This could have happened, but anyone who keeps abreast of current events in the Middle East is able to discern this.  It had better happen on the 3rd week of January 2000 Mr. Collins, lest you and your principalities be exposed.

Week 4
President Bill Clinton and his wife, First Lady Hillary Clinton, are shot to death in the White House as they sleep.  Hundreds of individuals and groups claim credit- including the Church of Satan- although suicide eventually is determined to be the cause of death.
--Nostradamus

*Now this one is interesting because if it had come to pass, we already have the culprit... Satan.  If Satan plans such an action for the 4th week of January 2000, and has revealed it to Nostradamus, it should come as no surprise to us. Furthermore, it did not come to pass, we can clearly see who is behind the veil can we not? This would only drive home the points of the above scriptures. This also reinforces the above scriptures and exposes Mr. Nostradamus and the principalities which he was consulting with.

Week 5
Intelligent life-forms from at least two and possibly three extraterrestrial civilizations "go public" in a worldwide television newscast.  Although they claim to be benevolent, the idea that mankind is not alone in the universe and is not God's special creation throws hundreds of millions of people into spiritual crisis. --Mayan Prophecies

*Another good one! If Mayan Prophecies spirit guides have mislead these folks into such a deception then I can only imagine the arguing and bickering between them and the spirits! Aside, the Word of God makes no mention of other civilizations elsewhere in space.  If indeed there are others out there, I am sure God has made necessary provisions for them as well. So what if it ever did come to pass that another civilization were to emerge at some point? What has this to do with us humans, and the fact that Jesus Christ died for us thus making atonement for our sin against the creator?

Week 6
The assassinations of six world leaders plunge the world deeper into anarchy and madness- as do the deaths of six religious leaders, including Pope John Paul II and the Rev. Billy Graham. --Nostradamus

*Again, as before, if this did indeed come to pass, it only further drives the point as to where this information is coming from. Satan may very well be planning such things.  But if this does not all come to pass on Week 6 of January 2000, we see that poor Mr. Nostradamus has been taken for a ride yet again.

Week 7
Not one, but six, deadly new viruses are identified as they break out of the jungles of Africa and spread to every continent.  At least two of the viruses attack both humans and plants, leaving both death and blight in their wake as they circle the globe.
--Bible's Book of Revelation

*Week 7 eh? Though God has revealed the plagues which would be sent upon the earth in the last days as judgment, He has not made known the day nor the hour.
Matthew 24:36.  More then likely these people refer to Revelation 15:1- where we see the final 7 not 6 plagues being added unto man. God did speak this to happen. It will come to pass. But on week 7 of January 2000? Sorry, I can't seem to find it.

Week 8
Vicious ice and electrical storms rake the U.S. and Western Europe, killing a million or more senior citizens and other innocent people who lost their homes or incomes in the January crash.--Edgar Cayce

*Ice and electrical storms on the 8th week of January 2000?  ok... we shall see Mr. Cayce

Week 9
Already reeling under the deadliest and scariest winter weather ever, ordinary citizens throughout  the United States and Europe find themselves at the mercy of kill-crazy criminals and looters who take advantage of the chaos in a frenzy of murder, rape and theft.  At this particular moment in history, civilization as we have known it passes into history, making way for the evil "new world" so many psychics and prophets have warned about.

*Psychics? Prophets? This proves only one thing, that at least psychics know how to read! They have either read the Word of God or someone has told it to them.  But either way, we find this prophecy in God's Word, told of by God through HIS Prophets. Let us look at exactly what God said...
2 Tim 3:1-5
1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

Rom 1:29-31
29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
but on week 9 of January 2000?

Week 10
Rumors that Christ has returned to Earth pale before news that Nazi madman Adolf Hitler has, in fact, risen from the dead and is back on Earth. Spreading hate and venom in the unholy names of Satan and the Anti-Christ.--Edgar Cayce

*Well this should be interesting! Especially when God says...
Heb 9:27
27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment

Week 11
Clashes among racial, ethnic and nationalist groups in Eastern Europe climax with the use of nuclear weapons. Millions are not only feared dead- they are dead.  What used to be considered European "civilization" is an increasingly distant memory.--Nostradamus

*Again, this could happen some day.  Who is not familiar with the racial, ethnic and nationalistic groups in Eastern Europe and the tension over there? But on week 11 of January 2000? Looks like Mr. Nostradamus strikes out again

Week 12
A paltry six thousand true-believing Christians are lifted directly into Heaven- alive- in the fulfillment of Bible prophecy.  The number stuns both rank-and-file church members and leaders, most of whom expected millions to be saved in "the rapture". --Bibles Book of Revelation

*First thing to note is that this does not come from the Bibles Book of Revelation!
*Here is what DOES come from the Bibles Book of Revelation...
Rev 20:4-6
4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.
6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
The rapture, or the first resurrection is a fact.  This will occur.  But how twisted is the above interpretation!
First... "a paltry 6 thousand" ???
But the Word of God tells us...
Acts 16:31
31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.
And...
John 3:16
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. This is an open invitation to anyone who would want to be saved! We already have proof of the multitudes of SAVED Christians who have already lived in the past. Let alone the many more who live today, and who will live tomorrow.  Who in the world has said that there would be only 6000 saved people?  Well, maybe they were saved and just not raptured up... While it is true that not all saved Christians will have their part in the first resurrection, I can guarantee you there will not be the exact figure of 6000!

Second... on the 12th week of January 2000??? who says?  Remember Jesus tells us
Matt 24:36
36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.

Week 13
The Lost Continent of Atlantis surfaces in the Atlantic Ocean just 40 miles off the southern coast of Bermuda.  Some 7,000 survivors are found in suspended animation in a deep freeze powered by an ancient nuclear reactor.--Edgar Cayce

*I like this one! In this very same issue of Weekly World News, the issue of October 5, 1999 we see a prediction by Mr. Cayce that on week 13 of 2000 the lost city of Atlantis surfaces in the ATLANTIC Ocean AND  they include an article about the lost city of Atlantis having been found in the PACIFIC ocean already in the same issue!

Week 14
San Francisco is leveled in an earthquake by an ancient nuclear reactor.--Edgar Cayce

*aahhh...  So much for Edgar Cayce

Week 15
Los Angeles becomes the second major city to be leveled in a devastating earth quake.
--Edgar Cayce

*Notice Mr. Cayce' average keeps getting worse

Week 16
Terrorists strike New York City with Sarin- the deadliest nerve gas known to man.  So may citizens are already dead from violence and disease that a death toll for the nerve gas is never established.--Futurist Janice Saymour

*Would you be too upset if I personally write to you on week 17 of January 2000  to laugh at you Janice? Oh, by the way Janice, God will save you too should you decide to repent and trust in Him

Week 17
A freak tidal wave literally wipes Miami off the map just hours after a small but powerful "Doomsday Meteor" slams into the Atlantic.--Edgar Cayce

*ooo k...

Week 18
Rumors that Jesus Christ has returned to Earth sweep the planet for the second time in a matter of months as people look for hope amidst the madness.  The rumors remain just that - rumors.--Nostradamus

*So Mr. Nostradamus did read the Word of God! Praise the Lord for that single word of truth Mr. Nostradamus! Oh, umm, you were not claiming this prophecy for yourself were you?
Matt 24:24-27
24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
25 Behold, I have told you before.
26 Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not.
27 For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
And don't expect this to happen on week 18 of January 2000 either.

Week 20
Militias declare America's Pacific Northwest "a sovereign state" and officially secede from the Union, beginning a brutal guerrilla war with federal troops that the Pentagon sends in to take back the region.--Futurist Robert Collins
